Dr LI Yi

Resume: LI Yi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of History, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where she teaches the history of modern Southeast Asia. Her research interests include British Imperial history, European colonies in Southeast and South Asia, overseas Chinese communities, and the history of Burma/Myanmar. Her doctoral thesis, ‘Local and Transnational Institutions in the Formation of Chinese Migrant Communities in Colonial Burma’, was completed at School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in 2012.
