王天夫,清华大学社会学系教授，研究专注于社会分层、中国家庭财富累积、城市社会学、家庭社会学等。他是清华大学人文社科学院社会学系教授、系副主任。曾主持国家社科基金项目、教育部人文社科项目等科研项目多项，于《中国社会科学》、《社会学研究》等杂志发表论文多篇，是《社会力量》杂志国际编委，曾获中国高校人文社会科学优秀成果社会学三等奖、北京市哲学社会科学优秀成果二等奖。

    Wang Tianfu (Ph.D., Chicago), Professor of Sociology, Tsinghua University

    Professor Wang Tianfu is the Associate Chair of the department. In recent years, Professor Wang’s research includes income distribution, gender income gap, causal relationship in social research, spousal violence, and social conflicts and the new spatial relationship in the process of urbanization. He has published articles in Sociological Studies, Society, and other oversea and domestic journals, including “Spousal Violence and its Health Consequences in Urban China”, “Categorical Sources of Income Distribution in Urban China: 1986—1995”, “Gender Income Gap under Redistribution and Its Evolution: 1988-2003”, and others. He also co-authored Stata in Practice.

    Professor Wang’s main research interests include social stratification, social research methods, sociology of the family, urban (space) sociology.
